WIP: White Pine Progress

Just a quick update on my fourth sweater: it's coming along, slowly but surely. I have about 12" of the main body done, which means I have five more inches to go before I start the sleeves. It seems like it's taking forever, but I think I'm just comparing it to the sweaters that I've already done this year, which have gone by pretty fast. This is what the sweater currently looks like:

The twisted rib along the bottom was grueling. It was even worse than my Winnowing shawl (which is hibernating at the moment, by the way) because you twist the knits and purls on both sides! The cabled pattern was easy to memorize.

The yarn is absolutely lovely and has a bit of a tonal thing going on. It's really soft and I just can't wait to wear it! Hopefully I can start the sleeves by this weekend.

  1. I love twisted rib, but I agree that it is pretty gruelling on anything you knit flat! I think I'm imposing a rule that I will only twist rib in the round from now on!

  2. It's funny you would say that the sweater is taking seemingly forever, that is exactly how I feel about mine right now. For all your work, it looks fantastic! And that color with your hair color, it will look fantastic on you!

  4. Love the color - it's so subtle and soft -- and I imagine that it will look beautiful on you. Twisted rib produces such a pretty result ... well worth the effort!

  5. Love that colour! Can't wait to see what it looks like :) I've wanted to knit this cardi for a while - good choice.

  7. Though it seems like it's taking forever, it's coming along well! I love the color. It looks like the gauge is pretty fine too. I can see why it would take awhile!
